06-08-08 - Wing Attach Blocks
As the wing attach blocks are assembled to the spar attach angles with
AN4 bolts I got the pack of 10 I got from ACS out of the box and I
noticed that one of them appeared to be missing some of the
anticorrosive coating.
The bag was packed at ACS with essentually one bad bolt. I
probably should try and get another but its just not worth the hassle
for one bolt.
Bad bolt top, good bolt bottom.
Bad bolt top, good bolt bottom.
Bad bolt head.
The wing attach blocks are a pretty critical assembly so I'm double
checking the drill press alignment with the table. It is
perendicular all the way around.
From the side.
One block cut and drilled with the spacer.
One completed attach block.
Marking the second attach block for cutting and drilling.
I cut the corner bevel on the band saw. It is a 45 degree cut
so I just used a scrap of angle as a guide.
Four completed wing attach blocks. One was updrilled as noted
on the plans and the rest I left at #30 for ease of drill alignment
later.
