Not much of an update tonight - I just got out the stabilizer skins and laid them on the frame to get an idea about skinning it.

Here's the frame as it was left yesterday.  I checked Home Depot for an angle drill adapter on the way home from work - no joy.  The only thing they had was way to big to be useful so I can't get the center ribs installed.

Here's the box the stabilizer skins were shipped in.  Each skin is seperated with paper.

See?  Packing paper 'n skins.

The right skin.  If you look closely at the edge on the downward side its not straight.  Meaning its laying on the frame on the wrong side.

The skin has some scratches in it - not too deep, but I'm hoping they can be polished out.  I am planning on polishing my Sonex - mainly because I think it looks cool with the added bonus of saving weight.

Heres both skins clamped to the frame backwards.  I figured it out after looking a bit closer.

Here's a closeup shot of the left side of the stabilzer.  It does look pretty cool.

I flipped the skins around, squared the ends and marked the rivet holes just to get an idea of how straight I laid out the frame.  Everything looks good (within a rivets width of center on all ribs) except one rivet I think may be too close to the edge.  I need to do some research on edge distances - I know 2x diameter is the rule of thumb, but is 1.5x ok if it is only one rivet on one rib?  We'll see - if I'm uncomfortable with it once it's drilled I'll remake the rib.
